I’m Sam Redman, executive coach and change consultant.

At the heart of everything I do is a desire to help you experience that lightbulb moment when it becomes clear to you just how much you can achieve. To support you to be everything you want to be.

I have more than 20 years’ experience in the field of learning and development, including over a decade spent leading on culture, leadership and talent at retail success story, Pret a Manger.

More recently, after reflecting on where I derive my own energy and fulfilment, I qualified as an Executive Coach with the Academy of Executive Coaching, adding new skills to my training in psychometrics and neurolinguistic programming. I now combine corporate consultancy, with private coaching, and my role as Programme Director for the internationally renowned management training provider BRC Learning (formerly OSS Retail Leadership Programmes).

I count myself one of those lucky people who has made a career doing what I love. And today my work is about helping you, or the teams and leaders within your organisation, to feel the same.

Working with me

Whether working with individuals in one to one coaching, or with organisations, my focus is building on the skills and attributes that we all possess to drive change and progress.

The people I work with tell me they feel challenged, but always supported. My sessions require participants to be brave and honest, but more than anything, I aim to create a calm and reflective environment where you’ll find it easy to make constructive adjustments you need to move forward.

My three pillars

At the heart of what I do are the three pillars of my practice:

Explore, Change, Fulfil

The three pillars guide my support for individuals and organisations. The structure they provide means I bring both consistency and flexibility to every assignment: a thorough analysis of the challenge at hand, and complete flexibility to tailor a programme that addresses your specific needs and circumstances.

Explore The first pillar spans career, relationships and health. It allows me to explore where clients are in their paid or voluntary work, whether their important relationships are sustaining or hampering their efforts to move forward and the state of their mental and physical health.

Change This pillar sees me work together with clients to make the positive changes they need. We might draw on my training in neurolinguistic programming, or any number of a range of training and coaching techniques as we navigate the best way for them to unlock their talent and make effective decisions.

Fulfil In this pillar I check that changes are embedded and clients understand how they, and those around them will benefit over the short and long term from what they have learned. I make sure clients finish my programme with a sense of resilience, confident about the future.

My track record

One to one coaching. I have a track record delivering successful one to one coaching programmes for senior leaders in sectors as diverse as finance, property, not-for-profit and retail. My clients include board members, managing directors and heads of department. I regularly work with clients planning major career changes or setting up new businesses, as well as those transitioning from management to board level.

Corporate consultancy. I create bespoke learning and development courses covering all aspects of leadership and talent. I deliver keynote speeches to hundreds of delegates and webinars to international audiences, as well as facilitating small groups. My work in talent management has been recognised as among the best in the business, when I led a team shortlisted for a recent Personnel Today award.

My past clients include IGD, a research and training charity at the heart of the good and grocery industry.

OSS Retail. Approached in 2019 to come on board the OSS Retail Academy as Group Director, I was then appointed Programme Director for the school’s Academy in 2020. I lead on structuring content for this prestigious annual programme which are designed to take retail professionals at all levels on a transformational leadership journey.
